Update on Moyle repair progress
The fault on pole 1 (south cable) has been pinpointed and the damaged section of cable recovered. This is a key milestone in the repair process. The next phase of the work is the jointing process, which will involve jointing approximately 1.5km of spare cable between the healthy cable ends.
Unfortunately, the recent stormy weather has delayed the start of the jointing process, which, being primarily deck work rather than seabed work, is dependent on weather conditions, but is less affected by tidal currents. The result of the severe weather is that the return to service date for pole 1 has been revised to mid-January.
