Mutual Energy owns and operates the electricity and gas transmission infrastructure between GB and NI and gas transmission infrastructure to Belfast and is currently involved in expanding the gas network to the west of NI. Mutual Energy has been extremely successful in delivering its primary objective of reducing energy costs for NI energy consumers. The company is a very “lean” professional business with a small executive team supported by a first-class Board.
As part of the normal board rotation process, the company is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director who will bring strong expertise from a consumer perspective. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of energy policy issues that impact Northern Ireland consumers and will provide particular insight in championing consumer issues in relation to energy.
There is an emphasis on quality as well as diversity of experience on the Board therefore successful candidates must also have the capability to contribute effectively in areas such as strategy, corporate governance, leadership and external representation. By necessity you will be a highly experienced and respected senior executive, having worked in very senior roles in industry or the public sector, or at partner level in the professions.
This non-executive appointment will appeal to experienced individuals who are seeking to make a lasting impact on the wider Northern Ireland economy.
