Call for Evidence: Biomethane Policy – Oxygen Limits on NI Gas Networks
The Northern Ireland Transmission System Operators (NI TSOs) are seeking industry views to support the Department for the Economy (DfE) in shaping its biomethane policy, specifically regarding the permissible level of oxygen content in the Northern Ireland gas networks.
This Call for Evidence (CfE) will help inform a future consultation on DfE’s proposed policy direction. Responses will play a vital role in shaping this ‘minded-to position’ and will be shared with DfE, the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI), and the Utility Regulator (UR).
We are inviting input from a broad range of stakeholders across both the public and private sectors, including but not limited to:
- Biomethane producers
- Gas consumers
- Shippers
- Equipment suppliers
We also welcome responses from stakeholders in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, particularly those with current or potential future connections to the NI transmission system.
Your insights are crucial to ensuring a well-informed and inclusive policy development process.
Make your voice heard and help shape the future of biomethane in Northern Ireland.
